Redding, CA Day 27-43
Redding California
Day 27-43
September 18th – October 4th
Bonneville Salt Flats
Leaving Utah was an interesting drive. The scenery and landscape changed…again. We stopped at the Bonneville Salt Flats. Dad was the most excited to see this legendary place where engineering history was created. Time trials of many motorcycles and cars were made here. It looks like miles and miles of a frozen lake covered in snow. Such an amazing place God has created. Mom and the boys had to walk on it and touch it. You needed to rinse off your shoes coming out of that sticky salt substance. It was so bright because of the reflection of the sun off the surface, we could barely keep our eyes open for pictures.

RV Driving Test
We stopped overnight at a Flying J’s in Finely, Nevada. We had a failed attempt at reserving and staying at an RV park that actually didn’t have room for our large rig. After a few u-turns and a round-a-bout (in the dark) we called it a night at the Flying J’s. Dad has now passed his RV drivers test. He’s got some skills.
As we passed from Nevada into California there was an instant change in scenery. We transitioned from desert to mountains and tall pine trees. The beauty set before us humbles me before such a mighty God. We spent two weeks in Redding which is located in the Northern portion of California. Why Redding, you might ask, because there is a ministry there called Bethel. We came expecting the Lord to move!

Beautiful Lakes
We decided one afternoon to spend a little money and rent a boat so we could experience one of the most beautiful lakes I have ever seen. It was so crystal clear that you could actually see your toes in the water while you are swimming. Most of our play days have revolved around free stuff but Jeremiah really wanted to get out on the lake. When we arrived at the dock the manager was not there and they had a little trouble getting us set up and checked in so they decided to throw in the tube for free with our boat rental. The Lord had a bigger blessing in mind though. When we returned after a great afternoon playing on the water the manager was back and realized the employee hadn’t checked us in correctly and proceeded to return all of our rental fee and deposit. The only thing we ended up paying for was our gas used, $18.55. It is so much fun to see God’s favor and how he cares about the desires of your heart.

Bike Rides
Riding our bicycles on all of Redding’s great trails has been our main past time. One of our favorite spots to ride was along the Sacramento River and over the Sundial Bridge. You can see by the picture how beautiful the landscape is how unique this bridge that spans the river is one of our favorite stops. It also had quite a few Pokemon.

Bethel Ministries
My brothers were able to attend youth service on two Wednesday nights at Bethel. We attended about every service they offered while we were there. SO MANY good things the Lord is doing there. The ministry is amazing because the Holy Spirit is there moving among His people. We all walked away refreshed in the Lord with a new confidence that He has us in His hands. We trust you Lord to lead us to our next step! He will not disappoint.
