One Month into this Thing (Day 1-2)
Wow, where do I begin. Let’s start by saying I still don’t like traveling days. I hide in my litter box most of the time.

The RV slides still scare me, the engine scares me and the bumps in the road scare me. My family blocks me out of the back of the RV when the slides are in to keep me out of another catastrophe. It’s always a relief when the bus house comes to a stop. I do, however, enjoy waking everyone up in the house in the middle of the night by pawing them in the head. They seem to be unaware that I have two or three of them feeding me. This will be our secret. I also enjoy some playtime after being fed whatever time that might be.
We have spent our first month pretty much just vacationing but trying to keep our eyes, ears and hearts open to the Lord. We left with the Words God gave Abram in Genesis 12; “Go forth from your country And from your relatives And from your father’s house, (which we literally left from) To the land which I will show you;” So far we haven’t felt Him telling us that this is the place. So we press forward. With that being said, we have watched the landscape change several times. The Creator’s creation is beyond breath taking. It’s amazing to me that only a few hundred miles and everything around you can change. He is brilliant and I’m honored to be able explore some of it.
My brothers have kept up with their school work. I know mom has a lot to say about the boys adjusting to their new schedule and finding things that fit each personality. She has also declared the bus house to be an artificial flavoring, coloring or chemicals free zone. Our health journey seems to be top priority around here. Those are probably all stories of their own.
I thought I would categorize our journey chronologically by bus stops. Today let's talk about our very first stop, St. Charles, MO.
Day 1 - 2 August 22- 24 St Charles, MO
We thought a short day for our first day out would be best. The plan was to pull into our cousin's driveway and spend the night. As we passed by the house dad decided he wasn't pulling the beast into the drive. So our very first night on the road was spent in the Walmart parking lot.

We can check that off our bucket list. In our vast knowledge (haha) of RVing we knew that it was proper etiquette to not pull out your slides while spending the night in a parking lot. It was a little tight and they had to guard the door so I couldn't get to the back under the slides. But overall let me just say Walmart isn't a bad place to stay overnight, they even have WiFi. Thanks Walmart.
We spent some time Pokemoning with cousins in downtown St Charles.

If my brothers didn't have the Pokemon bug yet they definitely found it in St Charles. The second evening we spent in at Lakeside RV park in St. Peters and the boys got to do their school work outside under a pavilion. The weather was great for it. We also made a trip to IKEA in search of some curtains for the bus house. We didn't find what we was looking for but did find this prrrrefect pillow. It was a short stay but always enjoy our time with Mike, Melissa, Bree, Sydnee and Nate. A big shout out to Mike for figuring out the steps. We left super excited to see what was in store for us in Kansas City.
