Moving Day

Traveling days, which we have come to call moving days, seem to be going rather smooth. Our tear down and set up is getting pretty quick. Dad secretly times each event to try and beat his previous record. He doesn’t know that I know his secret. Mom has inside jobs and dad has outside jobs and my brothers answer the calls to each. Mom always puts dinner in the crockpot on moving days so that when we get to the next camp, dinner is ready.

I know mom wanted a full size fridge in the RV but we bought a little older RV so the fridge is a regular camper fridge. It’s less than a desirable size for a family of 5. She buys groceries for two or three days at a time. That was definitely a big change for her. She is used to buying for about a week and a half at a time. We can go through some groceries! She does, however, enjoy having control of our diet where there is no artificial flavor or coloring, gluten or preservatives entering the bus house. We rarely eat out so we indulge in what mom would call “junk” when we get a chance. She has also removed chemicals from our bathroom, kitchen, laundry and cleaning supplies.

I believe there are many reasons the Lord has us on this journey and our health is one of them. Mom is expecting complete health healing in the family. She can’t seem to get enough essential oils in everything we use. We have seen some crazy things happen since using these oils. I even get to use some of the oils indirectly. Mom sprays me with water that has lemon oil in it when I get her up too early. I’m looking for a good all natural cat food and treats if you have some suggestions. I don’t care for change too much, but mom won’t stop.

Devil's Tower

As soon as we left Rapid City, SD we hit a new state…Wyoming. So I cowgirled up!

Again, the scenery and landscaped changed. The wind here is brutal. I can definitely feel the wind blowing our 39 ft. RV around. Dad calls the RV a big ‘sail’ that catches the wind. I guess it would be like driving a boat. We immediately stopped at Devil's Tower.

Look at me, I’m so gangster, breaking all the rules. No Pets at Devil’s Tower. This was an interesting stop on our traveling day. This might be the called Devil’s Tower because of old legends but it is God’s masterpiece. I could of so climbed that thing! If you zoom in on the picture you can see others climbing the tower. Apparently we didn’t have time for that so we took the trail around the tower.

Yellowstone National Park

We stopped to rest in Buffalo, WY. It was here where we decided to go to the Northside of Yellowstone. We could then add Montana to our list of new states. We stayed in Livingston, MT and drove into Yellowstone for all day visits which included our cooler and layers of clothes because the mornings were cool and the afternoons had perfect weather.

So much beauty here in Yellowstone National Park! We got to see a lot wildlife. Did you know that a bison could reach up to 40 mph and jump 6 feet high and are the largest mammals in North America? Yellowstone’s bison are the only pure breed bison. We had been warned several times that they can be aggressive. We aren’t afraid of all these bison that seem to be crossing our path. Let’s just say we have a healthy respect now though. We did get a glimpse of a black bear one afternoon while driving. We experienced Old Faithful do it’s thing and other geysers, hot springs and mudpots. The beauty is indescribable. Our iPhone pictures just don’t do it justice.

It makes me think of the scripture in Ephesians 3 when Paul talks about us grasping how wide and long and high and deep the love of Christ is for us and that it surpasses our knowledge. You can barely take in the vastness of this majestic surrounding and it is measurable. Oh the vastness of the love the Lord has for us that is unmeasurable.
